Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before booking your private lesson at Courchevel.

Booking & organisation

Fill in the booking form with your dates, number of participants, their ages and levels. Laurent will reply within 24 hours to confirm availability and the practical details.

For an even faster response, contact Laurent directly by WhatsApp at +33 6 86 78 17 20.

The usual meeting point is in front of La Croisette at Courchevel 1850. Depending on your accommodation, Laurent can also come directly to the ski room of your hotel or chalet — just mention this in your request.

The first 10 minutes are spent talking about your goals, your actual level and what you feel like doing that day. The programme is set together before putting your skis on.

Yes, and it's actually recommended. A multi-day programme allows for much faster and more consistent progress. Simply mention the dates you want in the form — Laurent prioritises bookings for multi-day stays.

As early as possible, especially in peak season (Christmas, February, late March). Slots fill up quickly at Courchevel 1850. One to two weeks in advance is a comfortable minimum. For full weeks or groups, plan a month or more ahead.

Yes, subject to availability. Contact Laurent as soon as possible — the earlier you let him know, the better the chances of finding an alternative slot. Cancellation conditions apply if the change occurs less than 48 hours before the lesson.

Levels & adaptation

Beginners & families — Getting your boots on, finding your balance, first turns in complete safety.

Technical improvement — Edge control, engagement, reading the terrain.

Tailored adult lesson — A specific goal, bespoke.

Children's lessons from age 5 — Adapted play-based pedagogy.

In the first few minutes, Laurent asks a few precise questions then watches you ski a few metres. This informal assessment is enough for him to adapt the programme immediately. No need to overstate or understate your level: the goal is to work on what will genuinely help you progress.

Absolutely. That's one of the key advantages of a private lesson. If conditions change, if you progress faster than expected, or if you want to explore a different area, the programme adapts in real time.

For levels that are close (e.g. beginner and low intermediate), it's perfectly manageable. Too large a gap would make the lesson ineffective — in that case, separate sessions are preferable.

Rates & payment

Full day (6h): 650 € for 1 to 3 people.

Half day (4h): 550 €.

Hourly lesson: 150 €/h.

These rates apply for 1, 2 or 3 participants simultaneously — the price does not change based on the number, up to a maximum of 3. Rates are VAT-exempt (art. 293 B du CGI).

Laurent's exclusive instruction for the entire duration of the lesson, for 1 to 3 participants. Not included: the ski pass and equipment rental. Laurent can point you towards partner rental shops for quality equipment.

Bank transfer, cash and cheque. Card payments are not available directly. The exact payment terms are confirmed when you get in touch.

For first-time bookings, a deposit of 30% may be requested to secure the slot. For returning clients, payment at the end of the lesson is common. These terms are agreed with Laurent upon confirmation.

Cancellation & weather

  • More than 48h in advance: free cancellation, full refund.
  • Between 24h and 48h in advance: 50% charged.
  • Less than 24h in advance: 100% charged.

Special circumstances (weather, illness) are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Lessons go ahead as long as the main lifts are running. Bad weather is often an excellent opportunity to work on challenging conditions. If the resort closes completely, the lesson is rescheduled or fully refunded.

If Laurent is unable to teach, you will be notified as soon as possible. The lesson will be rescheduled to a date that suits you, or fully refunded if no alternative is possible.

Yes, subject to availability. If you give more than 48h notice, a free reschedule is possible. Less than 48h, cancellation fees apply even if rescheduling.

Children & families

Lessons are reserved for skiers aged 5 and over. This is a firm rule for safety reasons. For children aged 5 to 8, Laurent fully adapts his approach: playful exercises, progress through games, a pace that follows the child.

Laurent organises the session so that everyone improves: more advanced participants work on technical exercises while beginners take their first turns. A minimum of 4 hours is recommended for family sessions.

Yes, absolutely. Non-participating parents can follow the group and watch from a distance — especially useful for young children who feel more at ease with a parent in sight.

Yes. Laurent uses proven play-based methods. The first hour is often spent getting comfortable with the equipment, with no pressure to "ski down a run". Building self-confidence comes before technique.
